Notes:
A sand-sifting species that requires a mature tank with a live sand bed to support natural feeding behaviour. Will also take frozen foods once settled. May jump, especially when first introduced – a tight-fitting lid is essential. Known for building burrows and may shift sand onto corals or hardscape. Should be kept singly or as a bonded pair; two unpaired individuals may fight. Can starve in new or overly clean systems lacking microfauna.
Why We Like It:
Constantly busy and full of character, the Golden Head Sleeper Goby keeps your sand bed clean while adding eye-catching movement to the lower half of the tank. Peaceful and reef safe, it’s a functional addition that also brings personality to the display.
