Origin: Indonesia – Sulawesi and surrounding regions

Diet: Carnivore – feeds on zooplankton in the wild; in captivity, thrives on mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality frozen or prepared marine foods.

Care Level: Moderate – hardy once acclimated but requires a covered tank as it is a strong jumper.

Aggression: Peaceful – generally reef-safe and community-friendly, but males may show displays toward other wrasses.

Notes:

Naoko’s Fairy Wrasse is a rare and striking wrasse with vibrant red striping along the dorsal region and a contrasting golden-yellow body. Best kept in tanks with plenty of swimming space and rockwork for retreat. Wrasses benefit from a sand bed for sleeping and resting but will adapt to bare-bottom tanks if hiding spaces are provided.
