Notes:
This sand-sifting goby is similar in behaviour to other Valenciennea species but often more robust and adaptable. Needs a mature sand bed to support foraging, but usually transitions to frozen food with time. Builds burrows under rocks and may cause minor landscape disruption. Jumping risk is high – a tight lid is essential. Can be kept singly or as a mated pair; avoid mixing with other Valenciennea species unless tank is large.
Why We Like It:
Hard-working and full of personality, the Sixspot Sleeper Goby aerates the sand and helps control detritus buildup. A great choice for reefers wanting a functional fish that brings subtle beauty and natural behaviour to the lower levels of the tank.
